One of my places is called “Tjörnin”. It’s either a small lake or a big pond — you can choose — in my Reykjavík. (You may know it as “The Pond”.) As you can see in this photo-graph taken by a lofty stone Mr. Lofty Stone, many birds live on it. In summer you can look at it, and in winter you can put on your skates and skate on it.

If you like to look at my rocks, and cross my rivers, and lie in my hot water, and walk and climb all over me, then you can visit my Landmannalaugar.
To get there you need a big auto-mobile that can drive over my rivers. But when you are there you can walk (or run) on your feet with other humans to another one of my places, called Þórsmörk. The trail between them is called Laugavegur and it will take you a few days to walk. On your way you will cross many of my rivers and meet many other humans and talk to them about how your feet hurt.
The photo is by Laura who made this book for you, and it was Emma who said I should tell you about Landmannalaugar on this blog. It is her favorite place on me. Do you have one, too? Tell me about it.

Strokkur is a place on me where very hot water shoots up in the air for humans to take photo-graphs of. (It was Patrick who took these.)
Strokkur is a “geyser”, but it is not Geysir, who is tired and sleeps a lot. I will tell you about him later.

Þingvellir is the place where I am drifting apart. One part of me goes west, and other goes east. (But don’t worry, it happens very, very slowly. Much too slowly for humans to notice.)

If you walk on your feet between my Landmannalaugar and my Þórsmörk (I will tell you about them later), you will pass Emstrur.
Beny said that one of his favorite places on me “is right next to the Emstrur camping site, close to Skógar. It’s very beautiful, and I took some nice pictures there.”
This is one of those pictures.
